The challenge

The old site no longer matched the agency White Lynx had become

Link building has a trust problem. Most buyers have been burned by vague promises, inflated metrics, or shady private blog networks, and White Lynx’s process (vetted publishers, native content, transparent prospecting, a replacement guarantee) was built specifically to be the opposite of that. The old site wasn’t making that distinction obvious.

  • The offer read like “link building” in general, not White Lynx’s actual vetted, transparent process
  • It wasn’t obvious why White Lynx’s vetted approach was worth paying more for than a cheaper, riskier link-building service
  • Pricing and process felt opaque, which is the exact objection a link-building buyer already walks in with
  • Proof points (client logos, media features, campaign numbers) weren’t front and centre
  • The site didn’t clearly separate “what we won’t do” from “what we will,” even though that distinction is core to the pitch
  • Enquiry forms asked for effort before earning enough trust to justify it

The bigger issue was that the website was working against White Lynx’s own positioning. A business built on transparency, vetting, and editorial quality needed a site that demonstrated those values on first glance: not one that made visitors do the work of figuring out why White Lynx was different from a $50 link farm.

As your process matures, your website needs to make the case for it

Over 14 years and 5,000+ links, White Lynx had refined a genuinely rigorous process: pre-flight checks, a shared prospect menu, a replacement guarantee, real publisher relationships. But a mature, well-tested process only helps conversion if visitors can see it. The old site treated that process as background detail instead of the actual sales argument.

The result was a site that could technically list what White Lynx does, but didn’t make the case for why it’s worth paying for over a cheaper alternative. For a service that lives or dies on trust, that gap mattered more than almost anything else on the page.

Our approach

Start with the objection, not the homepage

The easiest mistake in a service-agency redesign is leading with the logo and tagline. We started with the specific doubts a link-building buyer already has walking in, and worked backward from there. Those objections became the structure of the whole site.

01 step

Ask the business questions first

Why should I trust this over another agency? What exactly am I paying for? What happens if a link gets removed? Those questions shaped the page order, not just the copy.

02 step

Build a clearer path from doubt to enquiry

We mapped the journey from “skeptical visitor” to “submitted the enquiry form,” and restructured the page so proof, process and pricing appear in that order: trust first, commitment last.

03 step

Design for credibility, not just polish

Client logos, media placements, and hard numbers (90%+ approval rate, 6-month replacement guarantee, 5,000+ links built) were pulled forward and made impossible to miss, instead of sitting quietly further down the page.

04 step

Build on a platform the team can own

White Lynx needed to update pricing tiers, client logos and campaign stats without a developer every time a number changed. We built a structure the team can manage directly.

05 step

Design for conversion and SEO from day one

As an SEO agency, White Lynx’s own site had to walk the talk. Page structure, load speed, and on-page SEO were built in from the start, alongside a form flow designed to convert skeptical, budget-conscious visitors.

INSIDE THE REDESIGN

How the decisions stacked up

White Lynx sells trust in an industry known for the opposite — link building has a reputation for black boxes and inflated metrics. The site’s job was to make an opaque service feel accountable before a single link is ever built. Here’s the reasoning behind the path through the page, the tone, the build, and the foundations underneath it.

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

One page, built as a case for trust before a pitch for budget

Link building is a service most buyers have been burned by before, so the page is structured as a single, deliberate scroll Why It Matters, Quality Links, Process, Pricing, Enquire rather than a multi-page site that lets a skeptical visitor bounce before they’ve seen the proof.

An enquiry form sits in the hero, above any explanation at all, for the visitor who already knows they want this. Everyone else scrolls through the case for why White Lynx is different before hitting a second, near-identical form at the bottom the same commitment asked twice, once early and once earned.

VISUAL DIRECTION

Credibility through specificity, not adjectives

Every SEO agency claims “quality links.” The design leans on numbers instead of claims 500+ Australian domains, 90%+ first-submission approval, a 6-month replacement guarantee, 5,000+ links built, 14 years of experience placed in the hero itself, before any persuasive copy has a chance to be doubted.

The “backbone” metaphor from the founder’s quote carries through as the visual anchor of the page: link building framed as structural support, not decoration. It gave the copy a consistent image to return to instead of reaching for generic SEO jargon.

The section on rejected links private blog networks, forced content, poor IP locality does more trust-building than any feature list could. Showing what a service refuses to do is a stronger signal than listing what it does.

THE BUILD

A process page and a pricing page, folded into one

The five-step “30-day link cycle” (strategy, prospect menu, native content, submission, reporting) is laid out as its own section rather than buried in FAQ copy, because the core objection to link building isn’t price it’s not knowing what happens after you pay.

Pricing is presented as three tiers by publisher type Standard Outreach, Localised News Media, High-Authority PR each with a real price range rather than a single flat number, matching the honest “pricing follows the prospect” framing instead of forcing an anchor price the service can’t actually promise.

Client and press logo strips (Qantas, RACV, Adobe, Forbes, Entrepreneur, Houzz) are placed as evidence sections rather than a generic “trusted by” banner, reinforcing the same specificity the copy leads with throughout.

FOUNDATIONS

An SEO agency's own site had nowhere to hide

A link building agency’s homepage is scrutinised differently than most prospects will judge the service by how the site itself performs and reads. That meant clean heading structure through every section (Why It Matters → Quality Links → Process → Pricing), accurate metadata, and a page that stays legible on mobile through long-form sections like the rejected-links list and the five-step process.

The “30-day written cancellation” line and the transparent, range-based pricing are treated as foundational trust content, not fine print placed in the main deliverables list rather than a terms page a prospect would never read before signing on.

Homepage Transformation

Clearer differentiation, stronger proof points, and an obvious path from "why White Lynx" to enquiry from the very first screen.

Mobile experience

Readability, form usability, and proof-point visibility, without the friction of scrolling past walls of text to find pricing or the enquiry form.

The result

The result is a website that finally makes the case White Lynx’s process deserves: instead of asking visitors to take it on faith.

  • A clearer identity. Visitors immediately understand White Lynx as a vetted, transparent alternative to typical link-building services: not just another SEO agency.
  • Faster trust-building. Proof points, guarantees and client logos are visible early, addressing the buyer’s biggest objection before they even reach pricing.
  • Better enquiry journeys. A clear path from “what makes this different” through to a low-friction enquiry form.
  • A stronger foundation for growth. A site structure built to update stats, logos and pricing tiers as the agency’s proof points keep growing.

What we learned

A link-building agency’s website redesign is really about solving a trust problem, not a visual one. White Lynx had built a genuinely rigorous, transparent process: the challenge was making that process visible and provable within seconds of landing on the page, for an audience that’s naturally skeptical of the entire category.

That’s what we set out to achieve: a site that sells the process, not just the service.

Has your website fallen behind your process?

If your service has matured but your website still reads like a generic version of what you actually do, you're probably losing trust you've already earned elsewhere. Let's talk about your website.
